Silly Sally went to town,
Walking backwards, upside down
This silly tale of Silly Sally and her silly friends is great fun for any elementary school student.
It’s fun for teachers, too.
The story is simple enough for any grade as the story itself is just Sally going to the town and doing some silly things on the way. For all grades the students will need to be introduced to the actions that occur. Older grades would already be familiar with words like dog, pig and sheep, but words like backwards, tickle and upside down will be new to all of them.
Unlike many of the books I choose for the younger grades, this one doesn’t include a funky video. That’s too bad, but the rhyme itself is easily adapted to make some rip-roaring fun silly rhymes.
