Snapdragons are a fairly easy activity for any class. They can be adapted to many different lessons and sentence patterns.
I did this with grade 6 and it took a whole lesson. I showed them once, then they got to it. They needed a bit of prompting along the way.
Dialog: (S1 = snapdragon holder; S2 = friend)
S1: Choose a color.
S2: Green
(S1 opens and closes for each letter of the word, so five times for g-r-e-e-n)
S1: Choose a number.
S2: Three (a number on the open inside edges).
(S1 opens and closes this many times)
S1: Choose a number.
S2: Two.
(S1 flips up the flap with that number and uses the word as a prompt)
